Chattanooga, tenn. (AP) – Honor Huff collected 26 points in the victory of Chattanooga 87-72 against Dayton on Saturday in the second round of the nit.
Chattanooga goes to the quarter -finals against the winner between George Mason and Bradley, who played later on Saturday.
Huff fired 7 for 12 (5 by 10 from the 3-point beach) and 7 out of 9 from the Launcère Francs line for the MOCs (26-9). Trey Bonham scored 25 points while pulling 8 for 13 (3 for 5 on a beach of 3 points) and 6 out of 6 of the free throw line and added eight rebounds. Collin Mulholland finished 4 out of 5 on the field to finish with 11 points. It was the 11th consecutive victory for the MOCs.
Nate Santos led the flyers (23-11) with 18 points and six rebounds. Dayton also obtained 15 points and two interceptions of the Enoch cheeks. Javon Bennett had 15 points.
Chattanooga took the lead with 19:32 to do in the first half and did not give up. The score was 42-34 at halftime, with Huff accumulating 16 points. Bonham scored 20 points in the second half to help open the way while Chattanooga won a victory, ahead of Dayton of seven points in the second half.
