The Nascar Cup series returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday, trying to on one of its best finishes in history.
Winner Daniel Suarez, finalist Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch were separated by 0.007 seconds after 400 miles on February 25, 2024 for the closest finish of the CUP series and the fourth tighter.
The shooting was not an aberrant value with the oval of 1.54 mile, which has become a race with strong driving in the first series of Nascar since its reconfiguration in a high bench writing track three years ago. Suarez’s second career victory in the Cup crowned a race with a track record 48 head changes.
The winning pass for the head took place in the last two laps in four of the last five races in Atlanta. Joey Logano won last September by leading the last two laps.
