The current ABC is expected to expire after the 2025-26 season, so the beaches of the 2026-20 and 2027-28 seasons are subject to “potential minor adjustments”.

The Anaheim ducks remain firmly in their reconstruction and did not sniff the salary ceiling ceiling for more than half a decade. They have very little long-term money engaged in their books, with only five players signed beyond the 2025-26 season.
In the current state of things today, the Ducks should go to the 2025 off -season with nearly $ 56 million engaged with 14 skaters (nine attackers and five defenders), John Gibson and 2.5 million dollars kept on the Cam Fowler contract.
They will have to spend a little more than $ 14 million to reach the salary ceiling floor and cost $ 39.4 million under the ceiling.
Lukas Dostal, Drew Helleson, Mason MCTAVISH and Isac Lundestrom are the only waiting FRFs that need new contracts before the 2025-26 season.
The amazing cap space will lead to many look up to the market of free agents who, at present, presents names like Mitch Marner, Mikko Rantanen and Nikolaj Ehlers, in the hope that the Ducks can attract the One of the marquee marquee names to put the pen on paper on July 1.
The Ducks notably offered Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault, the biggest names in the 2024 free agents market, more money and term than they ended up registering in Nashville, leaving the Ducks hands empty.
Several teams will seek to take advantage of the unexpected additional ceiling space before the offseason, which could again leave the ducks outside looking at the big fish. They will already fight a difficult battle after a seventh season probably missing the playoffs and selecting in the top ten of the NHL draft.
On July 1, Trevor Zegras, Cutter Gauthier, Leo Carlsson, Pavel Mintyukov and Olen Zellweger will be eligible to sign contract extensions that were triggered at the start of the 2026-27 season. The Ducks will probably have easier to hit the hood floor with the potential of important money to hit their books after next season. However, the Director General of Ducks, Pat Verbeek, has not yet signed an RFA pending before or during the season when their contract expires, it is therefore worth monitoring how these situations take place.
The Ducks have had one of the best ceiling prospects in the NHL in recent seasons, but have not been able to use it or armament significantly.
