The BYU-Utah rivalry added another chapter to its storied history Saturday night in Salt Lake City, as the Runnin’ Utes outlasted the Cougars 73-72 in overtime.
For BYU, it was yet another close loss in an already frustrating season, and Cougar fans aren’t happy about it.
Here are some of the notable reactions on social media.
Good game Utah.
We just don’t have it yet.

Sudden loss. There is no way around this problem. Honestly, I feel bad for Trevin. He’s going to get a lot of hate for a shot he should have made. No need to tweet at him or be in his DMs

The hardest part about this loss at Utah is that it was one of the most winnable games on BYU’s conference schedule. Unless the team makes big strides in the coming weeks, it could be a tough few months. https://t.co/iMcmM5PC8L

There are still plenty of games left to play, but losing pitching games has defined this BYU basketball season.
BYU is 0-4 in overtime games and in games decided by five points or fewer.
The playoff outlook would be very different for this team if this record was 2-2 or better.

BYU has no one to blame but itself for this loss. Lots of heart but no tenacity or execution when it counted. The best look at the final play of a contested 3 by Demin is this team in a nutshell. Everything is laborious and out of sync. Still no road wins. @BYUMBB

Let’s all be honest with ourselves: no matter who you root for, these are two bad basketball teams.

32 free throw attempts compared to 10 free throw attempts…

This is one of the worst referee performances I have ever seen

I was excited to be in the Big 12 but tonight I’m not.
