All-NBA selections remain among the league’s most coveted end-of-season honors.
Making All-NBA teams is a huge seal of success for a player’s legacy. And even beyond solidifying his legacy, it’s an indicator that the season’s hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Perhaps the biggest reason players covet spots on All-NBA teams so much is the increased contract value they can bring.
In 2024, Luka Doncic And Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are among the players who will benefit from their All-NBA honors. Here are all the players who will benefit from a salary increase in the coming seasons thanks to their selections.

What are the criteria for the supermax contract?
The supermax is a relatively recent addition to the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement. This is simply an addition of terminology to define the increasingly important contracts that actors sign.
In order to be eligible for a supermax contract, a player must meet a list of criteria.
- A player must have played 7 to 8 seasons at the time of signing the contract
- A player cannot change teams during his first four seasons unless traded
If the player is deemed eligible based on these two points, he must achieve one of the following:
- Win MVP in one of three seasons before signing Supermax
- Earn an All-NBA selection in the season before signing Supermax, or earn an All-NBA selection in two of the previous three seasons
- Win Defensive Player of the Year in the season before signing Supermax, or win Defensive Player of the Year in two of the previous three seasons.
