All-NBA selections remain among the league’s most coveted end-of-season honors.

Making All-NBA teams is a huge seal of success for a player’s legacy. And even beyond solidifying his legacy, it’s an indicator that the season’s hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Perhaps the biggest reason players covet spots on All-NBA teams so much is the increased contract value they can bring.

In 2024, Luka Doncic And Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are among the players who will benefit from their All-NBA honors. Here are all the players who will benefit from a salary increase in the coming seasons thanks to their selections.

All-NBA Impact on Supermax Contracts

Luka Doncic

  • Supermax Expansion: 5 years/$346.3 million

Doncic earned his fifth straight All-NBA First Team selection, making him sign the largest contract in NBA history during the 2025 offseason. His supermax extension will be worth $346.3 million over five years.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

  • Supermax Expansion: 4 years/$294.3 million

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will make history if he signs this supermax extension after his All-NBA selection. This is his second consecutive first-team appearance.

He would become the first player to earn at least $80 million in a season.

All-NBA Impact on Rookie Extensions

Anthony Edwards

  • Rookie contract increase $245.3 million

Anthony Edwards hasn’t played enough seasons in the NBA to qualify for a supermax extension. Not only that, but the 22-year-old signed a Five-year contract extension, worth $204 million, to 2023.

The deal included a salary increase on the extension if he were to make an All-NBA team. Edwards made the second team, which will increase the value of his five-year extension by $41 million.

Tyrese Haliburton

  • Rookie contract increase: $245.3 million

Just like Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton will get a raise on his rookie contract extension, which he signed during the 2023 offseason.

He made the All-NBA Third Team and will receive an additional $41 million as a result.

What are the criteria for the supermax contract?

The supermax is a relatively recent addition to the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement. This is simply an addition of terminology to define the increasingly important contracts that actors sign.

In order to be eligible for a supermax contract, a player must meet a list of criteria.

  • A player must have played 7 to 8 seasons at the time of signing the contract
  • A player cannot change teams during his first four seasons unless traded

If the player is deemed eligible based on these two points, he must achieve one of the following:

  • Win MVP in one of three seasons before signing Supermax
  • Earn an All-NBA selection in the season before signing Supermax, or earn an All-NBA selection in two of the previous three seasons
  • Win Defensive Player of the Year in the season before signing Supermax, or win Defensive Player of the Year in two of the previous three seasons.
