This is the first major men’s tournament of the year. It’s the best major of the year, according to many. This is a somewhat exclusive area, as in many years there are about 90 golfers – there were 89 in 2024 – on the tee sheet at Augusta National Golf Club. That compares to most tournaments with 132 golfers, some with as many as 156, such as the US Open.
As calendar year 2024 approaches in December, it’s time to take a look at the golfers who have already earned a trip to Magnolia Lane, via the PGA Tour websitewhich brings together the names of those who have qualified for the four major tournaments of 2025 as well as other important events.
The list includes four amateurs who must maintain this amateur status if they wish to play in April. These four are: Jose Luis Ballester, Evan Beck, Noah Kent and Hiroshi Tai.
