The sign-stealing scandal involving the Houston Astros remains a hot topic in the MLB world. Even though the team has evolved since 2020, the accusations persist. Josh Reddicka former player of the team, came forward to defend Jose Altuveclaiming he did not participate in the sign-stealing scheme during the 2017 season.

In a recent interview on Foul Territory, Reddick was clear and direct: “I’ll tell you until the day I die, I didn’t use it,” he said. “Me, Altuve and Tony Kemp are the three who didn’t even think about using it.” These comments aim to clear the name of Altuve, who has been one of the most targeted by fans.

Reddick also mentioned that he is not the only one who has defended Altuve. According to him, Carlos Correa had already refuted these accusations the day after their meeting with the media. This reinforces the idea that not all Astros players were involved in the scandal.

The former Astros outfielder knows his numbers this season could raise eyebrows. “People are going to be biased, and I understand. I hit over .300 for the only time in my career,” Reddick commented. However, he attributes his success to playing alongside some of the best of the era, like George Springer and Altuve.

“It’s not like I’m making things up; it’s been proven,” Reddick continued. “I had a lot of fastballs between the World Series MVP and the league MVP. It was a lot easier to hit that way.” With these statements, Reddick seeks to clarify that his performance was not the result of cheating.

Scandal has scarred the careers of many Astros players, and Reddick is no exception. Despite the criticism, he remains firm on his stance: “Josh Reddick didn’t cheat. Josh Reddick didn’t use him, so you can continue to say as much shit as you want.”

The impact of the sign-stealing scandal remains a topic of debate among baseball fans. While some players have acknowledged their participation, others, like Reddick, continue to defend their integrity and that of their teammates.

The controversy surrounding the Astros and the sign-stealing is a reminder of how much a scandal can affect the public’s perception of a team and its players. However, statements like Reddick’s aim to change that narrative and clarify the names of those he believes did not participate.

Who is Josh Reddick?

Josh Reddick is an old MLB outfielder, born February 19, 1987 in Savannah, Georgia. Known for his defensive skills and strong arm, Reddick played for several teams, including the Houston Astroswhere he was part of the 2017 World Series winning team.

Reddick is remembered for his aggressive style of play and his ability to strike in crucial moments. Although his career was marred by the sign-stealing scandal, he remains a player respected for his work ethic and dedication to the sport.
