(Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae) ○… “Kyochon Champ” Jo Ah-yeon (22, Dongbu Construction) climbed to 116th in the world.

In the weekly women’s golf world rankings officially announced on the morning of the 10th (Korean time), she received 0.98 points, rising 43 places from last week’s 159th place. She accumulated points by winning the KLPGA Tour Kyochon Honey Ladies Open (total prize money 800 million won) held at Kingsdale Golf Club (par 72) in Chungju, Chungbuk, which ended on the 8th, with a 4-stroke victory (14 under par 202 strokes). It was his first victory of the season and his third career victory after 2 years and 8 months since the OK Savings Bank Park Seri Invitational in September 2019.

There were no changes to the “Top 10” as there were no LPGA Tour events last week. Ko Jin-young (27 years old) remains 1st (9.93 points), Nelly Korda (USA) 2nd (8.26 points), Lydia Ko (New Zealand) 3rd (6.35 points), Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) 4th (5.57 points), Minjee Lee (Australia) 5th (5.41 points), and Hataoka Nasa (Japan) 6th (5.38 points). Korean Kim Hyo-joo (27 years old, Lotte) is 7th (5.10 points), Park In-bee (34 years old, KB Financial Group) 8th (4.99 points) and Kim Se-young (29 years old, Mediheal) 10th (4.66 points).
