(Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae) ○… Ham Jung-woo’s junior (27, Hana Financial Group), Kim Yong-hyun (42), won the Cadet of the Year award.
The Korea Professional Golfers Association (KPGA) Korean Tour announced on the 23rd: “Kim Yong-hyun became the first recipient of the new Caddy Award this year,” adding, “He worked with Ham Jung-woo in 17 Korean Tour events and led him to victory at the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance KJ Invitational.” He also greatly contributed to Ham Jung-woo’s steady performance, ranking 3rd in the Genesis Points rankings. Kim Yong-hyun said, “I first met Ham Jung-woo when we were part of the national team,” and added, “I received this award in representation of the hard-working cadets during the tour.”
Ham Jung-woo expressed his gratitude, saying, “Yong-hyun hyung gives me the confidence to play comfortably on the course” and “He gave me wise advice whenever I faced critical decisions during matches.” The Caddy of the Year Award is part of the Caddy Appreciation Program held during the Genesis Championship. It is awarded to cadets who regularly participate in tournaments throughout the season and make a significant contribution to their players’ performances.
