(Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae) ○… “Future father” Jon Rahm (Spain) expressed his love for his wife.
On the 24th (Korean time), during an interview at the World Golf Championship (WGC) Series Dell Technologies Match Play held at Austin Golf Club in Texas, United States, he said, “Those who want to bet on me at the Masters in April should think twice,” adding, “Because I might leave the tournament venue at any time.” He is expecting the birth of his first child between April 10 and 12. The Masters will be held from the 8th to the 11th, so the due date overlaps with that of the tournament.
“Some people say ‘the first child usually comes later than the due date,’ while others say ‘it comes earlier,'” he said. “Anyway, I’m very excited about becoming a father.” He continued: “Whenever the due date comes, I am ready to go to the hospital as the situation approaches,” emphasizing: “If it happens now, I will immediately move to the accommodation, pack my bags and leave.” Rahm currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States.
“Even though I finished 9 holes of the final this week, if I get a call, I will leave immediately,” he added. “Becoming a father is more important than any golf tournament.” Rahm is currently ranked number 3 and has won a total of 5 PGA Tour titles. Last year he won two tournaments, the Memorial Tournament and the BMW Championship. Although he has yet to win a major tournament, he has finished in the top 10 at the Masters for three consecutive years. His best result was 4th place in 2018.
