Golf carts were once again a topic at the Russell County Fiscal Court meeting.
The issue has come up a few times in the past, as some residents who lived off Route 1383, near the Lake Cumberland Marina, showed up in court to ask the magistrates.
Residents have asked if golf carts could be allowed to travel on Highway 1383, but because it is a state-maintained road, County Attorney Kevin Shearer said that the problem was more with the state transportation cabinet.
Shearer said the financial court could only make such a change for county-maintained roads.
Judge Executive Randy Marcum said it’s something the county could look into further.
