Granitville – Gianna Clemente is not unrelated to the highest levels of junior golf and amateur.
Floridian, 16, burst into the scene at 14 on Monday, qualifying for three consecutive events as a LPGA tour, and she maintained this upward trajectory to become a “veteran” player in certain fields loaded despite his age.
Next month, she will make her third national amateur appearance Augusta against an area mainly composed of elite talents, and this week, she plays in her fourth junior invitation to Sage Valley.
His schedule is responsible for prestigious events during exclusive lessons, and a trip to the Sage Valley Golf Club is up there with the best of them.
“Just excited to be here,” she said. “This is one of my favorite tournaments of the year, and they treat us so well here all week. I mean, the golf course is incredible in itself, but the week and the way they treat us is really unequaled. So, yes, I’m just excited to be back and have fun this week.”
Clemente, the junior player of the prevailing year of the American Junior Golf Association Rolex on the side of the girls, tied in the 11th row in Sage Valley last year before accumulating several high finishes. She won the Mizuho Americas Open last May, tied in the third place in the American female junior in July and was a finalist in October at the Ping Invitational.
She knows what it takes to play well here, after having finished alone in fourth in 2022 in the first girl championship and following this by linking the eighth year.
“I think that knowing the Greens is really important. These green vegetables can become a little delicate, all the more quickly throughout the week,” she said. “But, yes, I’m just working on my swing a little right now and trying to compose certain things with the corners and things like that, make sure that the distance control is good. This course can be a little demanding, especially if you miss the fairway, so I think that try to compose the swing, that’s for sure.”
