CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — State of Florida could find himself without another quarterback as he prepares to face Louisville Saturday with an ACC championship and possible College Football Playoff berth on the line.
Strategist Tate Rodemakerwho started the team’s final regular season game – a 24-15 win over Florida — will be a game day decision, depending on the school.
Rodemaker left the game against Florida in the fourth quarter after suffering a late hit to the head following a scrum. He returned to action two plays later to help complete a touchdown.
Rodemaker did not participate fully in practice this week, but an FSU spokesperson told ESPN that the team continues to “go through the process” with Rodemaker and “will see what that means for Saturday.”
Rodemaker took over the starting position after starter Jordan Travis injured his left leg against the North Alabama Lions on November 18. Travis, who started since the 2021 season, earned ACC Player of the Year honors after helping the Seminoles clinch a berth in the ACC Championship Game.
If Rodemaker is unable to play, Florida State would opt for a freshman Brock Glenn, who has only taken a handful of snaps this season. Glenn played late against North Alabama to get game reps, going 2-for-3 for 35 yards and adding a rushing touchdown. Glenn also replaced Rodemaker after he was hit against Florida last week, throwing incompletely on his only pass.
Florida State is attempting to win its first ACC championship and make its first College Football Playoff appearance since 2014. The Seminoles have become a hot topic of postseason discussion with Travis now out for the season, but they remain No. 4 in the latest CFP Ranking.
