We have the Boston Celtics vs. Dallas Mavericks, Game 3 NBA Finals results according to NBA 2K24. The Celtics currently lead the series 2-0 after winning the first two games in Boston. The Mavericks hope to turn things around at home, where they will play Games 3 and 4. The series is still young and anything can happen, but it will be an uphill battle for Dallas. Without further ado, let’s discover the simulation of Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Celtics vs. Mavericks NBA Finals Game 3 results according to NBA 2K24
According to our NBA 2K24 simulation, The Boston Celtics will defeat the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 by a score of 114-87. The Celtics dominated throughout the match, thanks to the strong performance of all the stars on their roster. The Mavericks didn’t play very well, especially when their key players had to leave the court. Their comeback attempt was cut short after an ugly fourth quarter that saw them get outshot 38-21.
TEAM | Quarter 1 | Quarter 2 | Quarter 3 | Quarter 4 | FINAL |
BOS | 30 | 19 | 27 | 38 | 114 |
DAL | 21 | 21 | 24 | 21 | 87 |
It was perhaps our most lopsided simulation yet, with the Celtics winning by 27 points. The team dominated in almost every statistical category and even converted all of their free throws. Dallas, meanwhile, struggled to make shots and maintain possession. Additionally, they failed to capitalize on turnovers, scoring only 4 points after that.
In terms of player performance, Jayson Tatum earned the ball here. His 41 points, eight rebounds and 4 assists contributed to the Celtics’ offensive efforts. Kristaps Porzingis once again proved his worth to the team, scoring 13 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Additionally, he recorded a steal and two blocks throughout the contest. No one else posted revealing stats, but five Celtics players managed to drop double-digit points on the night.
As for the Mavericks, Kyrie Irving was the only player to score more than 20 points throughout the competition. Luka Doncic scored just 19 points while accounting for four of the team’s turnovers. PJ Washington had a somewhat respectable performance with 17 points and 9 rebounds, but failed to muster any assists, blocks or steals. Daniel Gafford had a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and a steal. Overall, it was just another rough day for the Mavericks.

With this victory, the Celtics now take a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals. It’s no longer a question of “if” but rather “when” they will win the NBA Finals. They can actually close out the series in Dallas in Game 4 if they continue to play well. However, we’ve seen some crazy things happen throughout the history of the NBA Finals. The Celtics therefore cannot let their guard down yet.
With this defeat, the Mavericks now lead by three games. More importantly, they lost in front of their home crowd in a game that could have turned the series around. However, it’s not over yet, even though no team has ever made such a comeback in NBA history. There’s a first time for everything, and we’ll find out if Kyrie, Luka and the Mavericks are ready to make history. We’ll see in Game 4.
In terms of accuracy, the dashboard itself is not unrealistic. However, I don’t know if I see the Mavericks losing that much. However, considering how well the Celtics are currently playing, this isn’t entirely unreasonable. However, we will continue to make adjustments to the CPU sliders in order to create better simulations. But for now, we’re just enjoying 2K24 simulations before the season ends.
One area we want to improve in our next simulation is making appropriate adjustments to reflect more accurate statistics. However, one thing we cannot affect is the individual performance of the players. So if we affect the CPU’s three-point conversion success rate, then all players, regardless of skill, seem to suffer. We’ll see if we can find ways to improve each player’s stats and performance.
