As the Seattle Sounders embarked on another run in the 2020 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, with the topic being where the winger stands out Jordan Morris His club’s football has once again become a hot topic of discussion.

Morris had a Best XI campaign for Seattle this season, scoring 10 goals and dishing out eight assists while cementing himself as one of the most dynamic strikers in the league. But no matter what Morris accomplishes in the league, there will always be a vocal contingent of United States men’s national team his supporters say he won’t know his true ceiling unless he moves abroad.

It hasn’t happened yet, but that doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen. with Morris himself saying in this year’s playoffs, it’s something he would consider if he felt the opportunity was right, and general manager Garth Lagerwey adding that the club would do what it could to adapt to the path that Morris considers best for his career.

β€œI definitely have goals and aspirations and if the right European team or situation came along it would definitely be something I would look at closely,” Morris said. β€œAll the focus is on this game this weekend, and after that we will see.”

With the debate in full swing, FOX Sports’ Alexi Lalas commented on his latest State of the Union podcast, saying he would be happy to see such a move for Morris, but adding that he hoped it could come out of personal motivation and not pressure from external sources.

β€œI have no problem if Jordan Morris decides he wants to test himself and experience this European adventure, and I also think there will be a lot of suitors,” Lalas said. “But I want it to come from the right place. First and foremost, it has to come from him. I don’t want him to do it because he thinks that’s what he should do, I want him to does it because he believes in his heart that this is what he must do. I don’t want him to do it because he feels like he has to live up to it. which the American football community considers to be right.
