The LSU match against Ole Miss is one of the most exciting of a weekend full of them. It presents two teams confronted with opposite struggles – for tigers, their attack, and OLE MISStheir defense.
It will certainly be a close game, and which will ultimately be decided by the best games (or the best on the worst) between the two teams. Here are four of the most important to monitor:

Harrison Wallace III against Mansoor Delane
The corner of Louisiana State University Mansoor Delane (4) reacts during the third quarter to the Memorial Stadium in Clemson, SC Saturday August 30, 2025.
During four games, Harrison Wallace III stood out in an Ole Miss attack traditionally known for spreading the ball. He ranks 17th by receiving yards in the FBS this season with 343.
Mansoor Delane, on the other hand, was undoubtedly the best corner of university football this season. Delane has Pff’s second best coverage note Among the corner half with 90 cover snaps or more this season, at 89.4. The same goes for its capture rate when targeted, which is an impressive 22.2% on 18 targets.
Wallace was the rebels most targeted receiver This season and a crucial part of their passing violation is going well. If Delane can maintain his dominant game of the first four weeks by closing essentially Wallace, he will launch a key in the generally explosive offensive of Ole Miss.

Unlike the previous match, it does not seem promising for LSU. Davis has fought against all levels of competition this season, abandoning a total of seven pressures and two bags to Louisiana Tech and south-east of Louisiana in weeks 2 and 4. This model continued against the Power 4 teams, with seven other pressures rendered to Florida and Clemson.
On the other hand, Umanmelen is the Rusher Top Edge of Ole Miss this season. We expect the rebels will try to type it against Davis as often as possible, aimed at exploiting a match that has been problematic for the LSU all year round. Unless a reversal of Davis on Saturday, expect Umanmelen to have a significant impact on the game.

Brown Brown against Antonio Kite
Barion Brown 6, Lsu Tigers faces south-eastern Louisiana. September 20, 2025; Red Baton, Louisiana, United States; at the Tiger stadium.
This is a better confrontation similar to the first on the list, with the best corner of Ole Miss and the most productive receiver in LSU this season.
Barion Brown emerged for the Tigers against Louisiana Tech during the week 2, winning the game balloon Brian Kelly for his eight HIC, 94 yards. The kite will undoubtedly be the best corner which it has been faced with this season, and the tigers will need Brown to go up on occasion.
Kite has had a solid year for Ole Miss so far, Only allow 10 receptions on 19 targets. However, 73 of the 101 Yards Kite allowed captures this season, which is one of the best aspects of Brown game.

If tigers can brown the ball in space, it could be an opportunity for LSU to make explosive games that have been difficult to find this season.
Patrick Payton against Diego

It will be a key match for LSU’s defense to attack on Saturday afternoon. Pounds has had a season from top to bottom so far, with Passing grades Of 85+ against Tulane and Kentucky, winning the honors of the co-offensive line of the dry for this last performance. However, he fought a lot against a talented rush on the Arkansas pass in week 3, with a blocking note of 23.2.
Payton was one of the most productive passing passers in Tigers this season, with 12 pressures. This will go a long way if he can keep the quarter to Ole Miss Trinidad Chambliss uncomfortable in the pocket on Saturday.
