Football kicks off spring exhibition season

AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn Soccer begins its five-game spring exhibition schedule Saturday at 1 p.m. CT, hosting the Jacksonville State Gamecocks at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

The match will be played in three 30-minute periods with a 10-minute break between each. The Tigers’ standout roster includes 25 active players, 22 of whom are returners. The head coach Karen Hoppa added a trio of new faces among the rookies Rory Schank And Ayana Yapo as well as the transfer Shelby Sallee.

All matches at the Auburn Soccer Complex are free and welcome to the public.


Last fall, Jax State went 6-9-2 and scored 35 goals while conceding 29.


Auburn continues its spring schedule on Saturday, March 16 at 1 p.m. CT, welcoming South Alabama to The Plains for the final home game of the season. For Game 3, the Tigers travel to Oxford, Mississippi the following weekend, Saturday, March 23, for a 1 p.m. CT matchup with Ole Miss. In April, Auburn travels to the home of defending SEC Tournament champions Georgia (April 14). , for a CT match at noon before closing out the spring with an 11 a.m. CT duel at Clemson (April 20).
