Football Australia is the subject of an investigation for its ability to protect the integrity of sport by grappling itself with the second scandal for fixing the A-League matches in 12 months.
ABC Investigations may reveal that the Victorian Games and Casino Commission will launch an “aptitude review” of Australia football which will examine the integrity measures of the director organ, as well as the Paris market range that it allows on football matches in Australia.
The revelations of the probe come after Victoria police this week charged the 25 -year -old Western United player Riku Danzaki With 10 match accusations for having intentionally received yellow cards during the A-League matches in April and May.
In May of last year, NSW police charged the players of the MacArthur FC Ulises Davila, Kearyn Bacchus and Clayton Lewis With match correspondence offenses also involving yellow cards.

The VGCC said that the latest match fixing allegations involving the Western United player were “concerning”.
“The VGCC will carry out an AF aptitude examination during the year 2025-2026 to assess its ability to ensure the integrity of its events,” the regulator said in a press release.
“This will include the search for activities, FA allows you to bet, such as yellow cards.
“The scope of the FA examination has not yet been finalized, but will focus on the requirements of legislative integrity of sports control organizations.”
In a statement, Football Australia said the VGCCC informed him of the exam in April.
“Football Australia welcomes the opportunity to continue to refine our vigilance against threats of integrity,” he said.
“Football Australia subscribes to continuous vigilance in our standards to meet this challenge, but it is something that all Australian and international sports, regulators and government agencies must do together, because this task is not unique to football players.
“The work on integrity is never complete because offenders are becoming more and more sophisticated.”
Under the laws on Victoria’s game, Football Australia is a “sports control body”, which gives it responsibility to supervise the integrity of football and the power to negotiate with Paris companies on the range of events on which they can offer bets.
It also allows Australia football to win part of the game’s income on football matches – including bets on the number of yellow cards in a match.
Football Australia has similar powers and responsibilities under New South New Wales Game.

In 2023, Four Corners revealed that Australia football authorized bookmakers to offer bets on all levels of sport – International games with amateur suburban matches.
Most of the other major sports organizations, such as AFL and LNR, only bet on first and second level professional competitions.
Although the VGCCC has not disclosed the mandate for its investigation, Jack Anderson, sports law expert at the University of Melbourne, said that it would probably focus on the range of game football, Australia allows all levels of professional and lover of the country.
“Probably what does (the regulator) are to say: yes, we have agreed that Australian football can allow a range of Paris on football. But some of these bets present such a risk that they are struck and not offered?” He said.

Professor Anderson said that the football guiding bodies and the authorities around the world are struggling with increasing matters of alleged match fixing involving yellow cards, which is one of the few elements of the game in sport which can be influenced by a single player.
“It is very discreet, in the sense that a player can make the fault that generates the yellow card. And he can do it almost at the minute, or at a particular era of the game.”
The Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta, who plays with the English side of the Premier League West Ham United, faces a possible life ban after UK Football Association accused him of intentionally receiving yellow cards as part of a stains fixing operation.
Paqueta denied any reprehensible act.
