AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn football and head coach Karen Hoppa announced the addition of graduate transfer guard Dani Kaufman to the Tigers’ 2020 roster.
Kaufman will head to the Plains after spending the previous four seasons at Bucknell University.
“Dani comes to us as a Bucknell graduate and she’s going to bring experience to our goalie unit,” Hoppa said. “She is an excellent shooting guard and played many minutes at Bucknell. We are really excited to have her join this class.”
Kaufman appeared in 23 contests and made 20 starts during his career with the Bison. She has 109 career saves and contributed to eight shutouts, including six solo shutouts as a sophomore in 2017.
After playing in three contests as a freshman, Kaufman started in goal in 19 games during the 2017 season and led his team to the Patriot League championship and the NCAA tournament. She totaled 100 saves in her sophomore year, eventually leading the league in saves per game and ranking third in save percentage (.813).
Also a standout in the classroom, Kaufman was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times.
A native of Wilmette, Illinois, Kaufman was originally a product of New Trier High School. A four-year starter in goal, she helped her team win back-to-back state championships without conceding a goal during the run. Kaufman was named All-IHSSCA, All-Sectional and All-State while earning Top Drawer Soccer All-America and Pioneer Press All-Area Co-Player of the Year honors in 2015.
