The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled defenseman Emil Andrae from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Andrae, 22, played four games last season with the Flyers, posting zero points and a minus-1 rating. In the AHL with the Phantoms, he made a huge impact, scoring five goals and 32 points in 61 games. He also had two goals and an assist in six postseason games with the Phantoms.
It’s understandable that the Flyers recalled Andrae, since Nick Seeler is currently out due to injury. Additionally, the Flyers announced that Seeler had been placed on injured reserve, retroactive to October 1.
With this reminder, Andrae now has a golden opportunity to leave a good impression. It will be fascinating to see how much of an impact the youngster can make when he makes the NHL team here.
