Luke Poulter’s return has reached new heights.
Poulter, the second 20 -year -old Florida student and the son of the European legend of the Ryder Cup, Ian Poulter, won his first career victory on Sunday at the Schenkel Invitational. Poulter crowned his thread title with a Birdie on his last hole, who took him out of equality with his teammate Ian Gilligan.
The Gators, classified 11th nationally, were cut by UTAH No. 12 by a shot for the team trophy.
This performance had brewed to Poulter. After having redepaht his first season, Poulter posted six TOP-16 among the first 16 last season for the Gators, but while playing a local American qualifier last spring, he was forced to withdraw with back pain. Doctors would later diagnose Poulter with a stress fracture in his right L4 vertebrae, an injury that has gone out of the Poulter for about seven months, a large part of which spent England.
Poulter returned to action for Florida at the end of January, tied to the 31st at the Southwestern Invitational. He followed with a T-6 at Gators Invitational and T-34 at Southern Highlands Collegiate before drawing 67-69-72, good for 8 under 54 holes around Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, in Georgia.
“I drive it best I have ever driven,” said Poulter in February.
Ian Poulter, who will then set it up during the Liv Golf Miami event next week, went to Twitter to congratulate his son:
We could not be more proud of Luke for his first individual college event victory 🏆
It means so much for him the most important. Having to sit for 7 months last year with a fractured L4 was not easy.
But hard work, an incredible mindset and a wonderful team of people around … pic.twitter.com/vxzczblurm

“It means the most important for him so much. Having to sit for seven months last year with a fractured L4 was not easy. But hard work, an incredible mindset and a wonderful team of people around him to keep him focused and positive.
“It was worth waiting, and we open this bottle of champagne, and we roast this victory for you.”
