The SEC’s initial availability report for the Florida football game with the LSU Tigers was released Wednesday evening, and the list of injured is long for the Alligators.
The Gators, aiming to bounce back and keep bowl eligibility hopes alive, face significant questions regarding the availability of several key players.
Strategist DJ Lagway is currently listed as “questionable” for this weekend’s game. The freshman missed last week’s game against Texas due to left hamstring injury but head coach Billy Napier is optimistic about Lagway’s progress.
“He (Lagway) was able to practice,” Napier said during Wednesday’s press conference. “He’s getting closer and closer to being ready to play.”
Another player listed as ‘questionable’ is running back Montrell Johnson Jr. who suffered a lower body injury that kept him out of action for several weeks. Napier called the senior “everyday.”
Others listed as “questionable” are receivers Elijah Badger and offensive lineman Damieon George Jr.
On defense, a key player the Gators will be without Saturday against the Tigers is linebacker. Grayson Howard. Howard has officially been ruled out of this weekend’s game, and with his injury, it will certainly test Florida’s depth at linebacker position.
