With less than four minutes, Texas Tech led 75-66 and the situation seemed dark for the Gators. Clayton equaled the match at 75 with 90 seconds to play. Darrion Williams of Texas Tech struck a lay-up to restore the advantage to his team, but Clayton struck the shot in 3 points with 59 seconds to the left, and the Florida held the head for the rest of the path.
“I just had all these guys around me,” said Clayton. “We do not extend into adversity. We meet. The whole team, we all did it together.”
Williams finished with a 23 -point team summit, and JT Toppin added 20 in the defeat that denied the Red Raiders their second Final Four trip. Previously, they made the national semi-finals in 2019.
Florida has one of the best offenses in the country, but Texas Tech was also one of the most scores teams. The Red Raiders came out of the 3-point fire doors with six brands in their first seven attempts, jumping in an early advance in the middle of the first half.

Florida did not overthrow the same clip for a large part of the first half, but the free throws helped Gators stay close. It was a big difference to start with a perfect start of 10 for 10 of the charity band in the first half, while Texas Tech was 2 for 6.
