Indiana fever is preparing for the WNBA 2025 season with an exciting mixture of young talents and experienced veterans.
One of their new additions, the double champion Sydney Colson, should bring leadership, energy and a winning mentality to the list.
The director general of fever and chief of the farm, Amber Cox, recently shared her reflections on the arrival of Colson and what she means for the team.
“I think she will bring a lot of joy to our lives this season”, ” Cox said. “She will be able to lead our team.”
“And obviously, you know, also a great personality. Cox added.
The Colson championship experience with the Las Vegas Aces, where she played alongside the MVP A’ja Wilson, made her an asset for fever. His presence adds depth to the team as they continue to build around the rising star Caitlin Clark, who enters his second year in the league.
Colson signed a one -year agreement of $ 90,000 with fever in February and should serve as a veteran presence in the rear area.
Beyond basketball, Colson recognizes the growing impact of fever in the city of Indianapolis.
“You brought people out of the outside of the city, outside the state, outside the country, perhaps, to see matches. And so it’s special, ”she noted.
Fever has become one of the most spoken teams of the WNBA, largely due to the growing celebrity of Clark and the team’s competitive trajectory. Colson attracts increased attention around Indiana.
“I go from a very submerged team to the media, people were delighted to look at us, to another which is undoubtedly the most spoken team in sport at the moment,” said the Indy Star. “It’s exciting to be part of a team that has a lot of positive energy around it.”
“I bring the leadership, the knowledge, the energy of the veterans, the swinging of the defensive momentum, just being this reliable person,” she said. “I want to win, finally.”
The movements of the fever of the fever have considerably strengthened their list. In addition to Colson, the fever added the triple champion Natasha Howard, the double champion Dewanna Bonner and the shooter Sophie Cunningham.
With revamped programming and experienced voices like Colson in the locker room, the fever aims to rely on their success last season and to make a deeper race in the playoffs.
