Fact or fiction: Domantas Sabonis is the largest snob of the All-Star NBA 2025 game

Each week during the NBA 2024-25 season, we will dive deeper into some of the biggest scenarios in the league in order to determine whether the trends are more based in fact or fiction in the future.

Fact or fiction: Sabonis Domantas is the biggest snob

What is a snob? A snub is a guy who cannot get love … The voting committee for the NBA All-Star game.

Maybe a handful of you have understood This joke. But it’s true. I don’t want to voters This season. The league is as rich in talent as ever. Someone had to be snubbed. Several players.

The NBA Thursday announced its star reserves (Selected by the coaches), finishing the field of 24 players for the star match of this year in San Francisco, as long as (the crossed fingers), nobody is injured by February 16.

Eastern conference: (beginners in fat) Giannis antetokounmpoMilwaukee Bucks; Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics; Jalen BrunsonNew York Knicks; Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons; Darius Garland, Cleveland Cavaliers; Tyler Herro, Miami Heat; Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks; Donovan MitchellCleveland Cavaliers; Evan Mobley, Cleveland Cavaliers; Pascal Siakam, Indiana Pacers; Jayson TatumBoston Celtics; Cities of Karl-AnthonyNew York Knicks

Western Conference: Stephen CurryGolden State Warriors; Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers; Kevin duringPhoenix Suns; Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves; Shai Gilgeous-AlexanderOklahoma City Thunder; James Harden, Los Angeles Clippers; Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis Grizzlies; LeBron JamesLos Angeles Lakers; Nikola JokićDenver Nuggets; Alperen şENGün, Houston Rockets; Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs; Jalen Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder

And of course: there are snobs. But remember:

Again, we know the rule:

If you tell me who has been snubbed, who shouldn’t be an All-Star?

– Vincent Goodwill (@Vincegoodwill) January 30, 2025

When we determine the biggest snob, we must expel someone. Sorry, James Harden.

Listen to me. (But a warning first: the matches played importance, so the apology to Paolo Banchero, Luka Dončić, Joel Embiid, Ja Morant and Franz Wagner, among others who did not play enough to gain consideration. ))

The biggest snob must come from the west. There are too many good players in the conference. Herro would not have sniffed a selection on a team from Western .500. He shouldn’t even have went to Trae Young at the Eastern Conference, but if we are looking for the most talented non -star this season – the largest snob – he is in the West. He did not fail to make a team of stars on Tyler Herro.

He failed to make it one in Harden, who spent an excellent season for a team from Los Angeles Clippers who exceeded expectations. He may not be the most precious member of his own team either. Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac have, at the very least, as impactful, like a healthy Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers are in sixth place due to a second -class defense in the NBA despite the presence of hardened; Not because of an offense at the end of 10.

The gross figures of Harden – 21.7 points, 8.4 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game – are impressive, although it pulls 40% on the field and below the average of the league of 3 (35 , 2%). Its 203 reversals lead the NBA.

I don’t like to plead against anyone, but these are the rules, and it’s a good against Harden.

Now for the revelation: the biggest snob of this year is not Lamelo Ball or Devin Booker or Tyrese Maxey. It is Domantas Sabonis, Spawn of Arvydas, King of the Nail.

It was between him and Kyrie Irving.

  • Sabonis: 20.9 pts (61/48/77), 14.5 Reb, 6.6 AST (3.1 to), 0.6 STL, 0.4 BLK; 68.0 TS%, 24.1 per

  • Irving: 24.2 pts (48/42/90), 4.9 AST (2,3 to), 4.6 Reb, 1,2 STL, 0.3 BLK; 60.0 TS%, 19.8 per

  • Harden: 21.7 pts (40/35/89), 8.4 AST (4.6 to), 5.8 Reb, 1.5 STL, 0.6 BLK; 57.3 TS%, 19.1 per

Do you want to look at this? Sabonis is the most effective marker of the three, leads the NBA in the rebound and average more matching per match than Irving (with a higher assistance / turning ratio than Harden).

Here is an average of a 21-14-6 in the history of the NBA: Wilt Chamberlain. That’s it.

What do you really have to say? Sabonis also played more than both this season. And when it is on the ground, the kings are better of 14.9 points for 100 significant possessions, depending on the cleaning of the glass – The fourth best walk / stop note from the league Among the players who recorded at least 1,000 minutes, dragging only Jokić, Wembanyama and Chris Paul (who played more than three -quarters of his minutes with Wemby).

Sacramento has the equivalent of an offense among the first five when Sabonis is on the ground and an offense at the bottom when it is on the bench, and the offensive note of the team settled in the seventh of the league.

On the other hand, the Mavericks are better of 3.8 points per 100 possessions when Irving is on the ground, and the clippers are 4.8 points per 100 possessions when Harden is on the ground. Add these on / off dimensions, and you are still looking for as much impact as Sabonis.

I’m not here to say that the game of Sabonis is most convincing for an audience of the stars, but who wants to see another Harden 3 decline when Sabonis converts his triples to the second best clip in the League? In addition, he will pass and bounce better than anyone. He will not steal the show, but he belongs to it. What we do here. The answer is obvious.

Determination: Do. Domantas Sabonis is the largest snob of the 2025 NBA star game.
