After a season seriously limited by an injury, Joel Embiid thinks he will need another surgery on his sick left knee.
It was according to Lisa Salters of Espn, who reported the news in the Sunday match between the Philadelphia 76ers of Embiid and the Milwaukee Bucks. Salters said that she had spoken with Embiid and that he had told her about the planned operation.
“I asked Joel Embiid how this left knee feels, and he gave a very long break,” said Salters. “He just said:” That’s what it is. “He said he always talks about it and facing him almost a full year after the first time the injury happened, he said it was frustrating and the most difficult thing he ever had to undergo in his career.
“He said he wanted to be able to play every match, but his body simply does not allow him to do it now. When the knee swells, there is nothing that he can really do on this subject. ..
“He said he thought it will probably take another surgery and a long period of recovery, something he did not have after the initial injury last February.”
The report did not mention a calendar for potential surgery, but the involvement with Embiid playing now is that it would take place during the offseason.
