Group games will be played in the usual NBA stadiums depending on the teams present and present. Once the semifinals and the final are reached, the games will be played in Las Vegas, at the T-Mobile Arena.

What is the Emirates NBA Cup?
The Emirates NBA Cup is a tournament that will take place during the regular season and will bring together all 30 NBA teams competing for the championship title. The aim is to provide additional excitement and engagement for fans, particularly during the early part of the regular season that has suffered in recent years, as well as to create new revenue streams for the league. In its first year, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Indiana Pacers in the final.
What is the format?
The tournament will be divided into six groups of five teams each, and the groups will consist of teams from the same conference, but not necessarily the same division. Teams will play four group matches, playing each team in their group once, with the winners advancing to a single-elimination stage.
Eight teams advance to the round of 16: the six group winners and two wild card teams. The round of 16 is played in single-elimination matches.
Each team will play 80 games in the initial regular season schedule, while those that do not qualify for the tournament playoffs will be entitled to two additional games. The two teams competing for the championship will play 83 regular season games in total. Additionally, the statistics from the games will count towards the regular season total, in addition to the championship game.
How are groups determined?
Prior to the start of the group stages, a group stage draw will be held on Friday, July 12. Each team has been placed into a “pot” based on its record from the previous regular season (2023-24). In each conference, one team from each pot has been randomly selected from each of the three groups in that conference.
Pot 1 is the teams with the three best results from the previous season in a conference. Pot 2 is the teams with the 4th to 6th best results in a conference. This three-group system continues until all 5 pots are filled.
