The coach of 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina has been cleared by the WTA Tour to return from her suspension for a potential violation of its code of conduct.

Stefano Vukov was provisionally suspended in January while the WTA conducted an investigation.

The WTA announced in February that the investigation had been completed and the ban remained in effect.without specifying how long it would last.

Mboko kills the last giant in Montreal

Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko delights crowds in Montreal and Toronto with her victory in the Canadian Open final against four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka.

Vukov is now allowed to receive credentials allowing him access to player areas and training grounds during his events.

“The WTA is fully committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all athletes and other participants, as outlined in our WTA Code of Conduct and Code of Protection,” the tour said in a statement.

“Any sanctions imposed following a violation of these safeguard rules are carefully examined and are subject to appeal before an independent court.

“While details of the matter remain confidential, we can confirm that Mr. Vukov is eligible to receive accreditations at WTA events.”

Rybakina announced before last year’s US Open that Vukov would no longer be her coach.

But ahead of this year’s Australian Open, Rybakina announced he would be joining their team.

She insisted he never mistreated her during their time together.

Rybakina, ranked 10th on the WTA Tour, recently reached the semifinals in Montreal before losing to Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko, the eventual champion.
