ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — A Disneyland employee died after falling from a moving golf cart backstage at the Anaheim theme park, authorities said Saturday.

The woman was identified as Bonnye Mavis Lear of Fullerton, according to the Orange County Coroner’s Office.

Anaheim Police Sgt. Jon McClintock said authorities responded Wednesday morning to the Disneyland Resort after a woman fell from a moving golf cart and hit her head.

She was taken to a hospital and died Friday from her injuries, McClintock said in a statement.

Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, expressed his condolences and said the company was focused on supporting his family and colleagues.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and extend our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her. At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast through this tragic event and ensuring that they have the resources they need.

Lear was a Disneyland Resort cast member for 24 years and currently supported Club 33 membership services.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this resort.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
