Texas A&M University (3-1, 1-0 SEC) defeated Bowling Green 26-20 Saturday night, disappointing the Aggie fan base with the team’s performance against Florida Alligators in week 3.
Behind the redshirt freshman quarterback Marcel Reed In his second career start, the Aggie offense stalled after driving down the field for a touchdown on the first possession, while Bowling Green’s defense held the Aggies from a distance outside of two field goals to take a 13-3 halftime lead.
Still somewhat disjointed in the second half, Reed used his legs for 91 rushing yards while throwing a solid strike in the red zone to receiver Jahdae Walker. DefensivelyA&M held the Falcons to 85 rushing yards, but allowed tight end Harold Fannin Jr. to have eight receptions for 145 yards and a 65-yard touchdown.
For the Aggies, a win is a win, but head coach Mike Elko I wasn’t happy and I had a lot of work ahead of me this week.
In the rest of the SEC, Tennessee looks to be the best team in the conference, beating Oklahoma on the road. On the other hand, Missouri Tigers looked beatable after beating Vanderbilt at home in overtime.
