Given their struggles at the point guard position this season, Spurs fans are desperate for their team to select a top point guard in the 2024 NBA Draft. Bleacher Report is covering them and mocking 6’6 Serbian point guard Nikola Topic to go to San Antonio at number 2. In his first 10 games of the season in the Adriatic League, Topic averaged 18.9 points, good efficiency and 6.8 assists. .

While not particularly athletic, he is quick, has a knack for getting to the basket, and has the potential to be a good 3-point shooter off the dribble. The topic would fit the Spurs well, given their desire to play bigger, more positionless basketball.

At 6’6, his size and court vision would be an immediate help in a weak position for San Antonio. This would help 2023 first overall pick Victor Wembanyama get easier shots than he got. Especially with his current teammates unable to find him in the post or for alley-oops.

Bleacher Report went so far as to compare him to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, given his creativity as an offensive player. This would certainly make him worthy of being chosen by the Spurs with a high draft pick.
