David Beckham’s son Romeo made his professional soccer debut for Fort Lauderdale in a 2-2 draw against the South Georgia Torment on Monday.
The 19-year-old played 79 minutes on the right wing, just like his father did during his career for Manchester United, Real Madrid and England.
“Happy to make my professional debut tonight for @fortlauderdalecf. Full focus on the next game,” Romeo said in a social media post.
Wearing the number 11 shirt, he featured alongside former Manchester United trainee Harvey Neville, the son of Phil Neville, who manages Inter Miami, who own and run Fort Lauderdale.
Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham appointed his former Manchester United and England teammate Neville as head coach in January following a stint as England Women boss.
Miami is currently ninth in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference after a 4-0 loss to the New York Red Bulls on Friday.
