Dak Prescott is officially a finalist for the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.
The NFL announced the finalists for its major awards Thursday morning and it was the only Dallas Cowboys presence among all (MVP, OPOY, DPOY, Coach of the Year, etc.). Prescott is joined by Stefon Diggs, Aidan Hutchinson, Trevor Lawrence and Christian McCaffrey, and in this particular case, all five players are returning from injuries suffered during the 2024 season.

It’s important to distinguish it this way, because Comeback Player of the Year can sometimes be a random award in terms of who wins it. The name implies that players are coming back from something and this is often considered an injury. And while that’s the case for this year’s finalists, the past has seen some players win the award after “coming back” after just a tough injury-free season.
Prescott won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award a few years ago and also won Offensive Rookie of the Year after his first season in the league. Maybe he’ll add this one too.
