NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. admitted he was “tired” of hearing about the ongoing legal battle between the organization and Michael Jordan’s 23XI run.
23XI Racing, alongside Front Row Motorsports, is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with NASCARwith both teams alleging that the racetrack has a monopoly, prompting them to file an antitrust lawsuit.
As NASCAR seeks settlementthe planned trial is expected to take place in December, with the former recently requesting that a new judge hear the case, which would lead them to leave current mediator Jeffrey Mishkin. Mishkin is a former NBA chief legal officer and executive vice president, with NASCAR pushing to find a “more neutral bailiff.”
However, as the drama rages, some fans couldn’t be less interested in the dispute between the two teams and NASCAR. One of those fans is the legendary Earnhardt Jr., who recently explained that he’s tired of hearing about legal issues.
Speaking on his “Dale Jr. Download” podcast, Earnhardt Jr. said: “I’m on the boat and I would absolutely like to get this fixed soon.
Earnhardt Jr. continued: “I’m…everyone’s tired of this. I don’t know what it would take to make both parties happy. I think everyone’s on their heels. There’s some pride and a little ego involved.”
While Earnhardt Jr. had hoped to see the parties involved settle, the NASCAR Hall of Famer believes that would be difficult.
He continued: “You see 23XI’s response, and it doesn’t even seem like they can agree on how to have a conversation to settle, right? Not only can we not agree on trial and a settlement, we can’t agree on how to have that conversation.”

And in Earnhardt Jr.’s eyes, the prospect of having to talk about legal matters continues to take away some of his joy in playing the sport he loves.
“As unfun as it is to talk about, that’s definitely what’s happening in sports today,” Earnhardt Jr. added somberly.
