Czech adolescent Jakub Mensik entered his first master’s semi-final in Miami on Thursday when he beat Arthur son 7-6 (7/5), 6-1.
Wednesday, son won one of the biggest victories in his career when he beat Alexander Zverev, but he had trouble repeating the feat against the impressive 19 -year -old Mensik.
The big service of the Czech Czech was too much for the sons, who had crossed battles in three sets with Frances Tiafoe and Zverev and shown signs of fatigue.

“It’s incredible. I think the biggest result of my career, so I’m happy to have continued since the first round,” said Mensik.
“This is the key, to keep the focus for two weeks, because it is always difficult. The work is not done.”
Mensik broke out with an advance at the beginning of 4-1, but then left the sons in the competition with the 20-year-old Frenchwoman forcing an equality break.
But after having survived this return of son, Mensik was solid at the rock in the second set while he was heading for the victory in 75 minutes.
Mensik, ranked 54 years in the world, will then face the winner of the quarter -final between Taylor Fritz and Matteo Berrettini later Thursday.
In the remaining quarter -final, postponed from Wednesday, the fourth seeded, Djokovic, takes over the American Sebastian Korda with the winner against Grigor Dimitrov Bulgarian.
