BOULDER, Colo. — When it comes to college basketball, every team wants a ticket to the Dance once the season ends. You can complain about the selection committee, ranking, and location, and you might have a good point. But all you can do is make the NCAA Tournament and then play anyone, anywhere, at any time. And that’s the story of the Buffs and Rams.
Let the madness begin.
March Madness: CSU men, women and men compete in the NCAA basketball tournament
And for the CSU, it starts soon. The Rams play Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio, as a 10-seed team. A bit of surprise and disappointment. They will face Virgina, with the winner facing seventh-seeded Texas on Thursday in Charlotte. The Rams were hoping for better, but all they have to do is go play.
The Buffs men’s team was at a watch party at coach Tad Boyle’s house when it was revealed they were also a top four team ranked 10. And they’re going to Dayton just like the Rams. CU will face Boise State on Wednesday, with the winner facing seventh-seeded Florida in Indianapolis. The Buffs lost in the championship game of the Pac-12 tournament, so there were some anxious moments. But now they are here and anything can happen.

The CU women’s team will head to the Big Dance as a 5 seed in the Albany-2 region in Manhattan, Kansas. The Buffs will face 12th seed Drake in the first round on Friday. CU could have been ranked higher, but they struggled down the stretch.
But they are there. And again, that’s all that matters now.
