In a stunning “about-face” that shocked the sports world, on June 6, 2023, the PGA Tour announced it would team up with bitter rival LIV Golf and enter into a business combination to resolve disputes grudges between competitors. tours which have fractured the world of golf along economic and even political lines.
Details regarding this business combination have not been made public; however, it is known that this partnership will also include the DP World Tour (i.e. the European golf circuit). It seems more than likely that the completion of this transaction will result in the creation of a new golf super league, which has sparked outrage from observers and even government scrutiny.
