The Colorado Avalanche announced Sunday that they have signed forward Tye Felhaber to a two-year, two-way contract. Felhaber signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Eagles, the Avalanche’s AHL affiliate, on August 12.
The Pembroke, Ontario native went undrafted until signing an entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars organization in March 2019, where he was sent to their AHL affiliate , the Texas Stars, and made his team debut during the 2019-20 season. He played 86 games with the Stars until being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning’s AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, in February 2022, with whom he played three games.
Felhaber then signed with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals (affiliate of the Nashville Predators) for the 2023–24 season, where he recorded an AHL career-high with 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 51 games. played.
The Colorado Eagles announced Felhaber’s one-year AHL contract with goaltender Keaton Mastrodonato and Bryan Yoon also signed to one-year AHL contracts on August 12. Since signing, Felhaber has led the Colorado Eagles with eight goals and is tied for fifth with captain Jacob MacDonald in points with 13 in 23 games played.
His most recent deal, signed with the Avalanche, will keep him with the organization through 2026. It is a two-way deal worth $1.55 million ($775,000 AAV ).
