Few players are as happy as Nicolas Colsaerts.

The Grand 6 ‘2 ”Belgium began the Flemish Revolution, which has since seen Thomas Pieters, Thomas Detrry and Adrien Dumont de Chassart, to name just a few.

With 10 professional victories under the 42 -year -old belt, including three on the DP World Tour, the latest arrival at the French Open in 2019, Colaerts was a pillar of the DP World Tour.

Never loved the PGA Tour, mainly because it was never comfortable playing in America, the Ryder Cupper 2012 spent most of its time in Europe.

Two years ago in Italy two years ago, as vice-captain, Colsaerts worked with Luke Donald to help win another Ryder Cup for Europe.

Now, the man known as Nico is seated at the top of the hero Indian Open after a first round with a 4-mine swing 68.

Nicolas Colsaerts, vice-captain of the Europe team during the round of training before the Ryder Cup 2023, Pedro Salado & Sol; Golffile & Period; that’s to say

“It went well today,” said Colsaerts. “It is a difficult golf course, and whoever pulls under peer today will be extremely happy. The harsh is high this year, the Greens are firmer, and it’s a bit like an open mini-US. It is a really difficult course. ”

The seven birdies and three Bogeys complete the idea that Belgium has adopted the configuration of the open mini-American.

Sitting 241st In the world, Colaerts has not made a cup from the Bahrain championship when he finished T38.

The 68 also links its lowest tour of the season when it opened with the same score in Bahrain.

“It is a great satisfaction to play a good tour on this golf course because it is extremely difficult,” said Colaerts. “Nothing really pointed out that I was going to pull four under the three of the three of the first three Greens.”

Colaerts has little story to play the Indian Open. He missed a reduction from last year and a T60 in 2017, and in any of the two cases, he broke 72.

“I would like to stay as patient as today and continue to understand that the pars are good; if you do some stews, it’s great,” said Colaerts. “Everyone is going to make bogeys, and I will try to keep the ball in play as much as possible.”
