There’s a bit of a lull in the NFL as teams enter the second week of free agency.
The big money moves are all mostly over, so teams are now looking for bargains. He may be a veteran looking for an additional contract. Or an injured player willing to sign a one-year “prove deal” to let the league know he still has what it takes.

Some names still available, as of this writing, that would fill a need for the Cleveland Browns include wide receivers Jauan Jennings, Christian Kirk and Hollywood Brown; guards Daniel Faalele and Mekhi Becton (hey, you can’t have enough offensive linemen!); offensive tackle Jonah Williams; and running back Brian Robinson Jr.
The quarterbacks are noticeably absent, as the roster is beyond depressing and there’s no need for general manager Andrew Berry to spend time thinking about who’s out there. Even if the current quarterback room is a disaster.
Berry probably has his eye on a player or two that no one has been following, like the signings of tight end Jack Stoll and defensive tackle Kalia Davis, so the coming week should see a few more new names coming to the Browns.
In the meantime, let’s start the day with the latest edition of Sunday Dawg Chow.
