Caitlin Clark broke the WNBA single-season assists record as a Indiana Fever lost 78-74 at home against the The Aces of Las Vegas Friday.
Clark matched the mark of 316 set by the The Connecticut Sun‘s Alyssa Thomas last year in the second quarter, before surpassing that total in the third.
Rookie Clark finished with nine assists on the night for Indiana, bringing his total to 321, and added 18 points.
The 22-year-old former college star has had a strong first season in the WNBA and leads the league in assists and three-pointers made.
His latest milestone came two days after A’ja Wilson broke the single-season scoring record, helping the Aces beat the Fever 86-75.
Wilson, 28, favored to be named the WNBA’s most valuable player for the third time, scored 27 points, which allowed her to surpass the previous WNBA record of 939. Seattle Storm‘s Jewell Loyd last year.
Wilson added 15 more points Friday, with Chelsea Gray marking a high of 21 for Las Vegasto reach 971 points for the season.
The Aces have three games left for Wilson to become the first player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 points in a season.
