LIVIGNO, Italy (AP) — Now it’s Chloé Kim’s turn to occupy a special place in the snowboarding record books.
Kim will be in the halfpipe Thursday night, trying to become the first snowboarder to win three consecutive Olympic gold medals.

The 25-year-old Californian injured her shoulder four weeks ago, disrupting her preparations for the championship. Milan Cortina Games. Wear a doubled in qualifying On Wednesday, she had a strong race to lead the standings and said her injury felt good.
“I’ve been doing this for 22 years,” Kim said. “Muscle memory is a thing.”
Kim traditionally completes the toughest races in her sport. She is the first woman to land two distinct types of 1080-degree double corks – two headlong flips – and some versions of these could be on offer for the nighttime competition at Livigno Snow Park.

Shaun White will also be there. He is the only other snowboarder to win three gold medals in a sport arriving at the Olympics in 1998.
Two horsemen – Ester Ledecka parallel giant slalom and Anna Gasser in big air – had three chances in a row earlier at these Olympics, but neither ended up on the podium.
