Change in dynamic must be maintained, says Dyche

Boss Sean Dyche has called on Nottingham Forest to maintain their standards as their reign accelerates.

A 3-0 victory in the Europa League against Malmö on Thursday kept Forest’s momentum going and extended their unbeaten run to five games.

It is also the first time that the club has won three consecutive matches since the start of the year.

Forest, who beat Liverpool Saturday, host Brighton on Sunday, looking to move further away from the Premier League relegation zone with Dyche, who replaced Ange Postecoglou in October, seeing the changes.

“I see them on the training ground, but that doesn’t guarantee a result,” he said. “I’ve spoken to the players all the time about our good habits on the training pitch, they pay it forward.

“So far it’s working. We have to maintain the standards and I think the players are learning that, or certainly my standards and the way I want to work.

“They adapt to that and they do a good job. But the last one doesn’t guarantee the next one and I remind them of that too. It’s not that simple, football.

“So you have to constantly work hard at what you do every day and it all counts. They’re becoming a group of players that are starting to understand that more and more.”
