Charlotte, NC (AP) Carl Edwards and Ricky Rudd had very little overlap in their respective NASCAR careers.
Edwards entered the Elite Cup series in 2004 – only 67 races before Rudd ended his 32 -year career – the two therefore never had the chance to know each other.
But two things equalize Edwards and Rudd – when everyone decided to retire, both have disappeared from the Nascar scene and, Friday evening, they will return to their former race community as the Nascar renowned temple.
Edwards and Rudd are among the five celebrated Friday evening as new members of the Nascar Hall of Fame.
