The Broncos hired Jeff Schmedding as coach of the interior seconds, Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports Reports.
Schmedding will replace Michael Wilhoite, whom the broncos fired After his arrest suspected of assault in the second degree of a police officer. Isaac Shewmaker will be the team’s outside secondary coach.
Schmedding never trained in the NFL, but he has 21 years of experience in the ranks of colleges.
He was dismissed from the Washington State in December after two seasons as a defensive coordinator of the cougars. Schmedding was also the defensive coordinator of Eastern Washington (2015-18), Boisse State (2019-20) and Auburn (2022).
