LSU football coach offered an update on the recovery of two main LSU defenders. According to a Wilson Alexander report from the Advocate, Kelly said Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins are missing spring training, but they are back when Lsu starts the fall camp.
Perkins missed most of 2024 after having torn his LCA in LSU’s victory against the UCLA. The weeks have undergone ankle surgery after an injury that forced him to leave the LSU Bowl victory over Baylor. In good health, the two are among the most talented seconds in the dry.
Weeks experienced a campaign in small groups in 2024. According to the PFF, the weeks totaled 56 stops and 25 pressures. He ranked second among the seconds of the dry in the two categories. Weeks have signed with LSU as a four -star recruit in 2023 and will be junior in 2025.
Perkins burst into the stage as one of the best passing passes in university football in 2022 as a real recruit. Perkins moved to the interior secondary in 2023, but there was increasing pain. It was a productive year for Perkins, but he did not take over games as he did as rusher. LSU decided to keep Perkins in the interior secondary in 2024 and it is difficult to glean the take -out dishes of a season where Perkins only played four games in a brand new system under a new coach of seconds.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the LSU defensive coordinator, Blake Baker, planned to play Perkins in the star position. The place is traditionally occupied by a defensive back, but Perkins is an elite athlete and LSU hopes that its capacity of play can translate.

With Weeks and Perkins, the LSU seconds room is one of the fastest in the dry. Both players can make touch of touch. The two have the speed to reach the passer and make an occasional game in the cover. To their best, Perkins and the weeks can display one of the best ravaging rates in university football.
In 2025, LSU wanted to see weeks and Perkins developed consistency by defending the race. If this happens, the defense of LSU will take another massive step.
LSU will also send the second Dahvon Keys. As a real recruit in 2024, Keys had a significant impact in the section, caping his year with a pick-six in the Bowl match. With Perkins at Star, Keys remains in the discussion for a starting place.
