The Southern Southern Stringers announced on Tuesday that goalkeeper Garin Bjorklund had been reassigned from South Carolina to the Hershey Bears.
Bjorklund, 22, is in his third season of professional hockey. He leads South Carolina The goalkeepers with a file of 21-4-3, an average of goals of 2.02 and a percentage of stops of 0.927 in 29 games played in 2024-25.
The native 6-2, 174 pounds from Calgary, in Alberta, is in the last year of an entry-level NHL contract with the Washington Capitalswho selected him in the sixth round (179th in total) of the NHL 2020 draft. He has not yet played Ahl game in his professional career.
In three Echl Seasons, Bjorklund has a record of 36-15-4 with a GAA of 2.66 and .905 SP in 57 games.
Before becoming pro, Bjorklund spent parts of four seasons with the Western hockey league Medicine Hat Tigers, appearing in 96 WHL games in a career.
