Week 6 of the NFL season marks a reset of sorts for the New York Jets.
The club fired head coach Robert Saleh last week after a 23-17 loss to the Vikings in London, in which Aaron Rodgers threw three interceptions, including a pick-six in the first quarter. Now defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich takes over on an interim basis and will attempt to right the ship for the 2-3 Jets, who have a chance to clinch first place in the AFC East with a win against the Bills.
The 3-2 Bills have lost two in a row — a blowout loss to the surging Ravens and a loss to the Texans last week on a 59-yard field goal by Ka’imi Fairbairn as time expired. Josh Allen was temporarily knocked out of this game with head and ankle injuries, but was cleared in the concussion protocol and returned. Although he didn’t turn the ball over – and he has yet to throw an interception this season in 131 pass attempts – he was just 9 of 30 for 131 passing yards in this defeat, much of it on a 49-yard catch and run by rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman.
