The boy who was seen crying after his favorite team was kicked out of the NCAA tournament got a happy ending.
Jacob, the son of the athletic trainer for the Arizona State men’s basketball team, is a big fan of the team.
After the team’s 60-56 loss to Syracuse on Wednesday night, he had to be comforted by his mother as the tears began to flow.
The cameras of TruTV, which was broadcasting the game, focused on the boy and he became a topic of conversation on social media.
After the match, Jacob met the team as they returned to their hotel, where the boy hugged the players, who were also disappointed with the defeat.
That same night, another boy also cried, but they were tears of joy.
Benjamin, 12, was cheering on the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden and wearing his favorite player Pavel Buchnevich’s jersey when the winger skated in and gave him his hockey stick.
The Rangers tweeted a video of Benjamin, who stood stunned when Buchnevich handed him the stick before the Rangers played the Pittsburgh Penguins.
As Benjamin processed what was happening to him, tears of joy streamed down his face.
