Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez are both hoping to use the Supercoppa Italiana final as a springboard to return to form.
This is highlighted in today’s printed edition of the Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Both Inter and Milan will be hoping to rely on their big players in tonight’s Supercoppa Italiana final.
And for both teams, there is one player in particular who has yet to live up to his reputation this season.
Lautaro Martinez and Theo Hernandez aim to return to form in Supercoppa final
In the case of Betweencaptain Lautaro Martinez hasn’t had the best of seasons so far.
The 27-year-old worked tirelessly, as always. But a lack of fitness earlier in the campaign and then excessive finishing meant Martinez was unable to score goals.
The Argentine got on the scoresheet against Cagliari in Serie A.
However, Martinez was unable to follow through in the Supercoppa semi-final against Atalanta.
The Inter captain therefore hopes that it will be a different story in the final against Milan.
Meanwhile, winger Hernández has undeniably been one of Milan’s key players over the past few seasons.
The Frenchman particularly stood out when the Rossoneri won the Serie A title in the 2022-23 season.
However, the 27-year-old has struggled to make the same kind of impact during the first half of this campaign.
Therefore, Hernández will aim for a renaissance under Sergio Conceicao. The Supercoppa final would be a perfect opportunity for Hernández to prove that he is back.
